Mathematics is a vital part of every day at Ranfurly. This learning equips our students for a lifetime, not just the next assessment, as we want maths to give our students the motivation to explore the challenges of the world in numbers. We play with numbers, so that all those ‘maths processes’ become easy for our students. After we ‘bust’ numbers down into manageable parts, we apply them to the ways of the world through measurement, mathematical problem solving, and chance and data. Our Maths program is ‘hands on’ and interactive and there is still a place for known facts. We teach these! This tool is essential to complement our other skills so that a student’s ‘toolbox’ of knowledge is practical and useful.
