Child Safe - Ranfurly is a Safe Place


Ranfurly Primary School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This is the primary focus of our care and decision-making. Ranfurly Primary School has zero tolerance for child abuse. This policy will apply to all member of the Ranfurly Primary School community and be inclusive of all school related activities, processes and procedures.

Ranfurly Primary School is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as the safety of children with a disability. Every person involved in Ranfurly Primary School has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

There are 11 Child Safe Standards:


For Students

All students should feel safe to speak to any staff member to raise any concerns about their safety or any other concerns that they have.

If a student does not know who to approach at Ranfurly Primary School they should start with the school's Child Safe Officers in Mr Rogerson (Assistant Principal) and/or Mrs Byrnes (School Community Officer).

If a student is feeling unsafe or have a concern, the Child Safe Officers will be able to help them and/or refer to other staff.

Students can also speak with their class teacher, the principal or any member of Ranfurly Primary School staff.
